Having completed a journalism degree, I've been NCTJ trained in reporting, media law, new media, SEO, analytics, and video, audio, and picture editing. My employment history has given me really valuable experience in a range of different elements of social media and journalism.

  • Created an Instagram account to help young people break into media careers.

  • In under five months, the account has reached over 2,000 followers organically.

  • Consistently achieving high levels of engagement and reach, and being up on those metrics as well as followers week on week.

  • Scripting, filming, editing and posting content at least once a day every weekday.

  • Content includes tips, resources, how-to videos, job opportunities, memes, and interviews with professionals in the industry.

  • This page has led me to opportunities in speaking on panels for Journo Resources, Women in Media, and the Student Publication Association; I've appeared on podcasts such as ViewsOurOwn; and I was recruited to be part of the Student Publication Association mentoring scheme, and the iLikeNetworking Ambassador scheme.

Channel 5 - Video content editor / social media

February 2019 - present

  • Creating clips from Channel 5 shows for social media using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.

  • Planning and heading social campaigns.

  • Heading the day-to-day running of our Instagram pages, as well as assisting with the running of our Facebook and Twitter pages.
